Bonnie Louise Robinson

Bonnie Louise Robinson

Memorial Services for Bonnie Louise Robinson will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at San Gabriel Baptist Church.

She passed from this life on July 5, 2016 at Serenity Senior Living in Pflugerville, where she had resided for the past year.

Bonnie was born on Sept. 12, 1933 to Jack and Ola Bell Crump in the Pleasant Hill community. She was a graduate of Rockdale High School and was married to Jimmie Holley Robinson on March 28, 1952. Her profession was of the highest calling, that of devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the San Gabriel Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Robinson and her sisters Betty Jean Shrhak and Margie Nell Brinkley.

Louis Valentine Labay, Jr.

Louis Valentine Labay, Jr., 79, of Milano died Wednesday, June 29, at his home. 

Funeral services will begin with a rosary at 9:30 am Saturday, July 2, at St. Mary’s Church in Nada and a mass immediately following the rosary. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with an additional rosary being recited at 7 p.m.

Louis was born Feb. 14, 1937, in Wharton County to Louis and Amalia Labay. 

Louis Graduated from Garwood high school in 1955. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army was was stationed at Fort Hood and over seas during peace time. Louis soon married his wife of 56 years, Lucille Schoellmann. 

They then moved to Houston and began his landscaping career which evolved into home construction. In 1985 Louis and Lucille moved to Milam County to pursue another one of his dreams of ranching and farming.

Gail Davidson

Funeral services for Gail Davidson, 77, of Gause will be held Saturday, July 2, at 10 a.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron.

Rev. Billy Crow will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pin Oak Cemetery near Gause.

Mr. Davidson passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in a Bryan hospital after an illness. 

Mr. Davidson was born Nov. 16,1938, in Hanover, to William J. and Bertha Hughes Davidson. He graduated from Milano High School in 1957, going on to graduate from Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos in 1961. He coached six-man football in Milano, taking the team to two state championships. He was currently the owner and operator of D & G Used Cars in Gause.

Dell Kirk Bollinger

COLLEYVILLE – Dell Kirk Bollinger passed from this life into eternity at 9:55 a.m., June 28, 2016, surrounded by family. 

Dell was born in Cameron, Texas on Dec. 10, 1926 passing this life at 89 years old. 

Services: Funeral Service at Life Church, 7850 Davis Blvd. North Richland Hills, Texas 76182, at 10 a.m. Friday July 1. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.

Dell answered enthusiastically to “Grandma Dell” from her nine grandchildren and her eight great grandchildren, she also happily answered to “Mrs. B” to an incredible number of friends, co-workers, and extended family. 

Dell lived a life committed to Christ, her four children, their spouses, and all of their children, never missing an opportunity to talk about how God had blessed us and that He had a plan for their life.

Dorothey Colbert

Dorothey Colbert of Cameron passed on Monday, June 20, 2016 in Houston, surrounded around love ones.

Services will be Saturday, July 2, Lights Chapel Baptist Church, 601 W. Batte St, Cameron.

Viewing is 10 a.m. with the funeral beginning at noon.

Dorothey Colbert was born and raised in Cameron and was a loving and caring person in the community and will be truly missed.

Virginia Mary Wells Watson

Virginia Mary Wells Watson, 95, of McGregor, died Saturday, June 25, in a Waco hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Dimitrij Colankin and Father Nolan Garrett officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cameron.  Visitation will be an hour before service time on Thursday at the chapel.

Mrs. Watson, a homemaker, was born, July 30, 1920 in Hartford, Ct. to George Raymond and Elsa (Schneider) Wells. 

She married Doug Watson on Dec. 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death in 2008.

She had worked as a stenographer and secretary for many years. She was a member of  St Jerome Catholic Church in McGregor.

She was also preceded in death by her son.  

She is survived by one daughter, Pat Watson of McGregor; and two nieces.

Annie Mae Jochec

Annie Mae Jochec, 88, of Marak, died Friday, June 24, in a Cameron nursing facility. Funeral services were Monday at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. George Thirumangalam officiating.

Burial follow in the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery.  Rosary was recited Sunday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.

Mrs. Jochec, a homemaker, was born Nov. 23, 1927 in Cameron to Vladmir and Mary Frances (Sklenar) Zavrel.  

She married Frank Joe Jochec and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak and KJZT.  

She was preceded in death by eight siblings.

She is survived by sons Frankie Jochec, Raymond Jochec and. Steve Jochec, all of Marak; daughter Genevieve Schoppe of Marak; 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.

Graham Dickerson

Funeral services for Graham Dickerson, 98 of Thorndale are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, June 30, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. 

Burial will follow in the Salty Cemetery in the Salty Community.

Rev. Ray Prince of Pleasant Retreat United Methodist Church will officiate. 

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Graham Dickerson was born Feb. 1, 1918 in the Conoley Community in Milam County to Gus Lewis and Bessie Elizabeth (Smith) Dickerson. 

He attended Conoley school through eighth grade and was a 1935 graduate of Thorndale High School. He attended two years at Southwestern University in Georgetown.

In May of 1943 he served in the 1923rd Ordinance Ammunition Company Aviation or the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was stationed in England, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. He was discharged as a Sergeant in December of 1945.

LaWanda Jane Shuffield

 

LaWanda Jane Shuffield, 78, of Rockdale died Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Matt Higginbotham officiating.

Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery near Cameron.

Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shuffield, a retired seamstress, was born in Ben Arnold on Jan. 25, 1938 to Cullen Thomas and Jewel Dahlia (Johnson) Raney. She married Donald “Duck” Shuffield on June 12, 1955. 

During her career as a seamstress, she managed several apparal factories. 

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockdale. 

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Jack Raney.

Guadalupe Tena Revilla

Service for Guadalupe Tena Revilla, 71, of Caldwell are set for 2 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2016 at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell with Rev. Joe Williams officiating.

Interment will follow atMasonic Cemetery in Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 19, also at the funeral home.

Mrs. Revilla died June 16, 2016 in Houston.
