The start of district 20-3A play has not gone quite the way the Lady Yoe would have liked. Cameron had lost both of their matches to Rogers and Jarrell and were winless headed into the second week of district action.
Though it was not necessarily a win, Coach Kamol Nohe and the Lady Yoe (0-3) did take a set off of Lexington (3-0) in Friday’s 3-1 loss.
Battling heavy adversity after falling in the opening two sets (13-25, 19-25), Cameron dug deep to grind out a 25-22 victory in set number three. Lexington went on to take set number four (14-25) and the match.
Savannah Kruse continues to lead the Cameron offensive attack, this time totalling six kills. Darci Deni had 11 of the Lady Yoe’s 16 assists.
Marly Spink (4), Daiya Braziel (2) and Kenize Wimmer (2) were other top attackers for Cameron.
