District track meet set for Cameron

Highlighting the Academy Relays was the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams for the Yoemen to go along with the individual performances from Za’Kara Bryson with her first place finish in the 100-meter dash and second place finish in the 200-meter dash.  

Bryson’s 12.23 in the 100-meter Dash would have been good enough for sixth at state in 2017.  

Cameron’s 4x100 team ran a 42.92, which is just 0.08 seconds off of Rockdale’s state time from a year ago. The Tigers were the third team advancing out of regionals, behind Crockett and McGregor.  

The 4x200 squad’s 1:29.74 was also opened some eyes, finishing over four and a half seconds faster than second place Rosebud-Lott.  

The 20-3A district track meet will take place this Wednesday and Thursday in Cameron.
