Chamber launches Business of the Month

The Cameron Chamber of Commerce has announced the kick off of Business of the Month Awards for the 2018 year.

“Our city is full of so many great businesses and hard workers, and it is time to come together as a community to recognize them,”

Chamber Director Melanie Reed said. “Members of the public may nominate local businesses for the award each month. These nominations will then be reviewed by a committee, and a winner will be selected.”

Businesses that receive the award will be recognized with: a photo and story about the business in The Cameron Herald sponsored by the Cameron Chamber of Commerce; a sign presented at the place of business for the month; and winners will be placed into nomination for Business of the Year, which will be awarded at the annual Chamber Banquet.

Nomination forms can be found at the following locations: Cameron Chamber of Commerce - 102 E. First Street in Cameron; http://www.cameron-tx.com; or the Cameron Facebook Page.

Forms must be received by 5 p.m. on the first day of each month to be considered for the preceding month.

Reed said that to start this off, as an exception, forms must be received by March 27 at 5 p.m. for the April award. Forms for May Award and following months will apply to the original rule of 5 p.m. on the first day of each month.

Chamber staff will check eligibility of each nominee upon submission. Nominations that are passed over will be considered for the next two months, after which will be dropped from consideration.

“We are so excited to see our town participate in recognizing businesses in Cameron that make a difference in our community through outstanding customer service, community development, Chamber involvement, and community service,” Reed said.
