Yoe Powerlifting Results

Yoe lifters competed in the first meet of the year at home on Saturday. It was a successful meet, as hundreds of lifters from across Central Texas filled Yoe gym for the event. Cameron did find success on the boys side, with a fourth place finish overall. Below are full results:

Soccer Season kicks off, Cameron tourney this week

Both Cameron soccer teams have officially began their seasons as of Tuesday. The Lady Yoe played their first games of 2018 in the Waller tournament while the boys played Hearne on Tuesday.

 

The girls did not find much success in a traditionally tough tournament in Waller, finishing 0-4 overall. Cameron lost pool play games to Needville (0-5), Sweeny (0-4) and Klein Oak (0-5), and drew Navasota in the finale, falling 2-5. Shelby Lara and Tiffany Bolivar scored the goals in the final match.

 

The JV team did play in Caldwell on Tuesday and won convincingly, 6-1. Bolivar scored three goals, Wendy Sanchez came in with two and Chasity Henson pitched in with a score.

 

The boys were scheduled to compete in Jarrell over the weekend, but the tournament did not make and was cancelled. Cameron did find a game with Hearne on Tuesday and fell, 3-1.

 

Both teams will be competing in the Cameron tournament starting on Thursday, with 24

matches scheduled to take place over the three days on Yoe Field.

Westbrook produces most receiving yards in playoff win over Buffalo

It was not pretty, but wins are all that matter at this point of the season as the Jaquars and Dede Westbrook are advancing on after a 10-3 win over Buffalo in the AFC wild-card game. Jacksonville only passed for 87 total yards, but Westbrook led all of the receiving categories, with 8 targets, 5 catches and 48 yards. The Jaguars will now hit the road to take on Pittsburgh in the AFC divisional game this Sunday. Kickoff is set for 12:05 and the game will be televised on CBS.
