Vickie L. Shuffield

Vickie L. Shuffield, 56, of Cameron, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017, in a Georgetown hospital. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.  Burial will follow in the North Elm Cemetery. 

Mrs. Shuffield was born Oct. 18, 1960, in Cameron to Calvin H. and Patricia Lynn (Williams) Smith. She married Harold “Buddy” Shuffield on Nov. 25, 1978.  She had worked as a waitress and owned a house cleaning business for several years before earning her CNA license and working for Girling Health care until retiring.  She enjoyed fishing, spoiling her grandkids, and loving her husband and daughter and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law, Lawanda Shuffield. 

She is survived by: her husband, Buddy Shuffield of Cameron; daughter, Amanda “Mandi” Tyson and husband Randy of Cameron; brothers, James Smith and wife Janie of Cameron, and Melvin Smith and wife Crystal of Scott, La.; four grandchildren, Seth, Matthew, Zackary and Jacob Tyson; father-in-law, “Duck” Shuffield of Rockdale; brother-in-law, “Doc” Shuffield and wife Michelle of Rockdale; seven nieces; many cousins; and special friend, Ann Russell Collins.

Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
