Caldwell Cross Country Results

The Yoemen and Lady Yoe Cross Country runners were both back in action this back weekend at the Caldwell Invitational.  Cameron’s Jose Osorio once again highlighted the boys with a 19th place finish out of 67 runners. 

“We ran a little better this week,” said Yoe cross country coach Dale Keen.   “Jose Osorio finished 19th in a strong field of runners.  Rico Bolivar didn't perform like he usually does but he was quite sick.  Eric Rojas finished much better this time.”

Rojas finished with a time of 25:02 with Bolivar not far behind at 25:14.   For the JV, Robbie Pfiel was 28th of of 47 runners with a time of 22:58.  Joel Uvalle also ran and finished at the 26:09 mark. 

The girls are still working in the junior varsity division, but did show signs of improvement from week one to week two. 

“The girls ran in the Jv division and finished 5th, which maybe was last among teams, but every girl in the program is new,” said Keen   “Frances Simms ran tough to finish 15th and got a medal.”

Simms finished in her 15th spot with a time of 15:06.  Patience Adcock was right behind Simms, finishing in 16th (15:19).  Harlie Halpain (18:07), Rosa Valles (19:35), McKenzie Salicos (23:20) and Anna Bowman (24:30) all ran for the girls.

The junior high once again competed this week.

“Junior high is just getting started but we have hope for the future,” said Keen.  “Joseph Barbo was our first finisher for the boys.  Kincaid Callahan and Nicholas Canizales finished within a few seconds of him.  Daisy Osoria and Liza Garcia ran well and should help the varsity next year.”

The three junior high boys all finished back-to-back-to-back in the final standings.  Barbo was at 17:26, Callahan came in at 17:29 and Canizales was right there at 17:31. 

Osoria was the top finisher for the junior high girls, coming in 40th with a time of 16:32.  Garcia finished at 16:47. 

All cross country runners will be in the Rogers Invitational this Saturday, September 24.
