Mrs. Jarma passed from this life peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2018, while surrounded by her beloved family. She was born to Harry and Marilyn Schaedel in East Orange, N.J., on July 19, 1930.

Dreau is a long-time residence of the Temple area, living here for more than 50 years. She was a tenured member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a strong woman of faith and was dedicated to her Lord and her church. She was also a supporter of the March Of Dimes for many years. She was a wonderful cook, loving to prepare big family meals, especially around the holidays. Any holiday at the Jarma’s home was a special one. She loved to decorate for any special occasion. Dreau also had a deep love for music, always playing the piano and singing. She even recorded her own record.

Most of all she was a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest treasure in life was her family. Not only was she a great homemaker, she also helped with the family business, Harry’s Cafe in Temple. She of course helped decorate the restaurant and even waited tables and helped wherever else she could. Dreau left a life-long legacy of caring for and loving her family and will always be remembered as a woman who carried herself with class and grace. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Jarma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry A. Jarma Sr.; daughters, Suzanne Jarma, and Andrea Leigh Jarma, M.D.; her parents, Harry and Marilyn Schaedel; and her only sister, Geraldine MacPhee.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her sons, Harry “Buddy” Jarma Jr., Barry Jarma, Larry Jarma, Andrew Jarma, and Simon Jarma; daughter, Donna Marie Jarma, PhD; ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
