Carroll R. Grimm

Carroll R. Grimm, 71, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2018, in Cypress.

Carroll, known to many as C.R., was born March 17, 1946, in Cameron, to Clinton and Ida Stoebner Grimm. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and younger brother John L. Grimm. He was baptized into the Christian faith in May 1946 and confirmed his faith on Aug. 28, 1960, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Thorndale.

C.R. is survived by Scherry Grimm and his children: daughter, Kim and partner Corey Kerr, Shawn and partner Faye Liffick, and Megan and husband Jason Wootan. He is also survived by his grandchildren and numerous family, friends, and colleagues.

In 1970, he began his career as an Ag teacher at Cy-Fair High School. He would stay at Cy-Fair for the next 41 years before finally retiring in 2011. Through his commitment to the Cy-Fair Ag program, the FFA and the Cy-Fair Rodeo, he built a legacy that touched thousands of students and families. He not only taught students agriculture in the classroom, he taught many about life.  His legacy was built on work ethic, a passion for teaching, a love for animals and simply giving freely of his time and knowledge. Many have referred to him as a legend and while he would laugh at this, he was also so proud.

The family will be receiving visitors Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main Street in Tomball. Services will be held Friday, March 16, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 15235 Spring Cypress Road in Cypress. Burial will take place after the service at Detmold Cemetery in Thorndale.
