Deadlines and information announced for Rockdale Fair

Milam County 4-H is in full force for the new year.

Here are some upcoming events coming up that pertain to the Rockdale Fair

Rockdale Fair Home Economics Division 

Rockdale Fair Home Economic Division Rules are posted on the website.

Rockdale Fair Home Economics Division activities will be conducted at the George Hill Patterson Community Center in Rockdale.  Check-in for the Home Economics Division starts on Thursday, Oct. 20,  and check out will be Saturday, Oct. 22, from 12-1 p.m. along with pictures at 12:30 p.m. 

Please note that you are not required to buy a ticket to drop off items, view Home Economics items, or pick up items this year. Remember it will be in the Patterson Center not the New Salem Building, so a ticket is not needed.

 

Dates and Deadlines for Livestock Exhibitors

• Steer tag-in - Sept. 6 at YEB from 5-6 p.m. for MCJLS steers

• Broiler Pickup - Sept. 7 at Home Demonstration Building in Rockdale from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

• Breeding beef heifers entries must be postmarked by Sept. 14 or bring entries to rabbit tag in.

• Rabbit tag in is Sept. 14 at the Home Demonstration Building in Rockdale from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

• Palpation and body condition scoring is on Oct. 1 at the Milam County Auction Barn. Sifting starts at 10 a.m.

 

New 4-H Year

The new 4-H year will start Sept. 1. To re-enroll or join 4-H, please see our website at http://counties.agrilife.org/mc4h/4-h-enrollmentguidelines/ This link will show you the steps to join as well as many important items for the 4-H year.

Join us for 4-H fun!  Our new club leaders and club information is posted. Please make sure you enroll ASAP because you will not receive the 4-H Blasts until you re-enroll. You must be enrolled on 4-H Connect to participate in any 4-H contests or livestock shows including Rockdale Fair.
