Carole Jeanne Slavik

Funeral mass for Mrs. Carole Jeanne Slavik, 71, of Burleson was held Saturday, March 12, at St Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Marak, TX, with Fr. George Thirumangalam officiating.
Mrs. Slavik died Wednesday, March 9, in a Ft. Worth hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Slavik was born Dec. 12, 1944 in Harlingen to Dr. (Col.) George Earl and Wilma Allen. While growing up, she lived in El Paso, Germany and San Antonio. She graduated from Alamo Heights High School in San Antonio. She received an associate degree from Tarrant County Junior College. She married William (Bill) Slavik on June 17, 1971 and moved to Burleson. Mrs. Slavik was an administrative assistant for General Dynamics and Bell Helicopter and later partner/office manager at the architectural firm of William B. Slavik.

Graham McLerran

Graham McLerran, 96, of Cameron died Sunday, Feb. 21, in a Cameron nursing center.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with O. E. Davidson and Eugene VanNoord officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. McLerran, a retired farmer, was born July 27, 1919 in Cameron to John and Lela (Isham) McLerran. He married Nina Turner March 2, 1944.
He was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran and a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by two daughter-in-laws, Pam and Elaine.
He is survived by his wife Nina McLerran of Cameron; sons Russell McLerran and wife Betty, Wayne McLerran, John McLerran and wife Glenda of Cameron, Mike McLerran and wife Jeannie and James McLerran, all of Cameron; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren

Carolyn Ann Busby

Carolyn Ann Busby, 65, of Cameron, passed away Saturday Feb. 20, at a Temple nursing facility.
Funeral services for Mrs. Busby will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of the Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Andy Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow at the North Belton Cemetery in Belton.
Mrs. Busby was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Belton to Frank William and Winnie D. Bleeker Alexander.
She is a 1971 graduate of C. H. Yoe High School. She was a retired nurse in the Home Health Care profession. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include one brother Curtis William Alexander of Cameron, three sisters, Dorothy Lee Manis of Morristown, Tenn.; Shirley Corona of Cameron and B. J. Benner of Bartlett. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Addie Mae Alexander.

Kalyn Rae Brymer

Funeral services for Kalyn Rae Brymer, 24 of Thorndale are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale with Pastor Aaron Kalbas Officiating.
Burial will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016 at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Kalyn was born March 13, 1991 in Austin to James C. and Kelly (Lozenski) Brymer.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of St. Paul School and a 2010 graduate of Thorndale High School.
In 2014 Kalyn received her Master’s degree in animal reproduction from Tarleton State University.
Kalyn had the opportunity to study abroad in Africa, and was able to present her work in water conservation and purification at the world conference in the Netherlands in 2015.

Kristi Kopriva

Kristi Kopriva, 68, of Cameron died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 in a Cameron nursing facility.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 22, at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial followed in the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Marak.
Mrs. Kopriva, a homemaker, was born June 21, 1947 in Temple to James Truitt and Alice (Young) Werner. She married Joe John Kopriva, Jr. on October 23, 1965 and he preceded her in death in 2011. She was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter Alicia Smith and husband Horace of Cameron; two grandchildren Chelsea and Levi; and special friend Carolyn Eichinger.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.

Harlan Hilliard

Harlan Hilliard

Funeral services for Mr. Harlan Hilliard, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at the Friendship First United Methodist Church, in the Friendship community, with Rev. Richard Cromwell officiating.
Military graveside services will be held at the Friendship Cemetery following the funeral service.
Mr. Hilliard passed away Saturday, Feb. 13, at his home.
Mr. Hilliard was born August 11, 1920 in Lingleville, Texas, to Clifford and Addie Hartsel Hilliard.
He was a retired civil engineer with Exxon Pipeline Company. A long-time resident of the Friendship community, he married Lucille McQuary Hilliard, who preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Mr. Hilliard served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church.

John Paul Eichinger

John Paul Eichinger, 84, of Bremond, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2016 in a Temple hospital.
Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Pebble Grove Cemetery near Maysfield. Visitation will be Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron.
Mr. Eichinger, a retired farmer, was born Nov. 27, 1931 in Houston to Frank and Olive (Sanders) Eichinger.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved to fish and coon hunt and spent most of his time on the river. He loved his family especially his nieces and nephews, who he loved as if they were his own children.
He is survived by brothers Edward Eichinger and Thomas Eichinger, both of Rockdale, Jim Eichinger and Leland Eichinger, both of Cameron and Doug Eichinger of Bremond; sisters Bertha Carter of Georgetown, Mary Shipwash of Austin, Lois Carroll of Tahlequah, Okla., Lana Coker of Comanche and Betty Sue Chatham of Cedar Park.

Doris E. Gamble, 83, of Cameron, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2016 at a Cameron nursing facility.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial will follow in the Sharp Cemetery.
Miss Gamble was born May 10, 1932 in Milam County to George and Vada Gordon (Harris) Gamble.
She had worked as a legal secretary for the law offices of Ellot, Camp, Magre and Glaser for many years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cameron.

Darrell “Glenn” Fisher

Darrell “Glenn” Fisher, 62, died February 2, 2016 at his home in Houston,.
He was born June 20, 1953 in Houston to the late Harold Blaine Fisher, Sr. (RPLS 558) and Opal Belle Blackmon Fisher.
He was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas (RPLS 4146), and a proud employee of Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. He was also an ordained deacon, and passionately volunteered as a Little League coach and umpire. Above all else, he loved his children and grandson and was a wonderful, supportive, and inspiring father and “PeePaw” to all of them.

Robert Lewis Holder

Robert Lewis Holder, 94, of Buckholts, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, at his home. Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Friendship Cemetery Pavilion near Davilla.
Mr. Holder was born Dec. 29, 1921 in Milam County to P. E. and Minnie (Shepherd) Holder.
He married Dorothy Hill and she preceded him in death. 
Mr. Holder was a farmer and had worked at the Buckholts Tire Store for many years and was a self-employed lawn service man. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII.
He had served as the president of the Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Holder was also preceded in death by two sons, Larry Joe Holder and Harry Lee Holder. 
He is survived by four nieces, four nephews and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home of Cameron is in charge of arrangements.
