Ezequiel “George” Delao

Funeral Services for Mr. Ezequiel “George” Delao, 72, were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 11 a.m., in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, with Rev. Judy Gotcher of Granger officiating. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rosebud. Mr. Delao passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Delao was born April 10, 1944, to John and Juanita Hernandez Delao in Barclay. Having worked in the cattle industry for many years, he retired in 1994, after 37 years of employment with Hilliard and Kathryn Thomas, as their general ranch foreman.  After his retirement he was employed by David Barkemeyer until his death.  He also owned Delao Contract Labor Service.

Survivors include: fiancé, Kathy Miller of Granger; son, John Delao and wife Amber of Temple; daughter, Crystal Barrera and husband Lee of Temple; brother, Jesse Delao of Wichita Falls; sisters, Mary Sue Gonzalez of Cameron, Mary Lou Jimenez and husband, Lucas of Rogers, and Linda Delao and friend Ted Sediello of Rosebud; grandchildren, Chase Delao, Brayden Barrera, Layton Barrera, Alexis Mack, Austin Sandefur and T. Y. Sandefur. Also surviving are special nephews, Anthony Lara and wife Renee of Ben Arnold and John Jiminez and wife Rena of Killeen, and a great-nephew Kirk Lara of Ben Arnold.

Mr. Delao was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Marcelino and Nevis Delao.

Visitation for the family was held Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
